Lessons from a journey of a medieval knight templar as he goes on a journey where the lines between good and evil blurs

Lessons I learned as we go on a journey with a medieval knight templar warrior through the trenches of war, friendship, betrayal, duty, and faith

In the series Knightfall, the main protagonist is “Landry”, a knight templar in the holy lands, his entire life changed where they lost acre, templars last stronghold in the holy lands, and with that “the holy grail” the most sacred object in the whole of Christendom, after this Landry started to tread on the treacherous path to find the grail and on this path, he realizes the line between good and evil blurs

When I was reflecting I realized each one of us, in some way or the other is chasing “the holy grail”, some call it a career goal, dream company, relationship, health, and wealth

In some cases, we were able to achieve it and then became complacent and it slipped through our fingers like sand also most scenario it’s the chase, chase for that elusive dream

I thought can the journey of Landry provide some light and direction to dream chasers like me and through this article others who are on the crossroads of dilemma, here are the top 10 of my favorite quotes —

“There are two wolves in each of us, a black wolf and a white wolf. The white wolf thrives on love and faith. The black wolf, on fear and hate. You have to know which wolf to feed and when.”

There are white and black wolves inside everyone, they are in a terrible duel, one represents “peace, love, hope, kindness, empathy, and compassion” other represents “anger, envy, regret, greed, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, and ego.”, I sometimes think why we need to feed only “One” wolf and starve the other

Sometimes all we have to do is to acknowledge there is a “black” wolf in all of us and “Yes” we have to feed him end this internal struggle within us and when we face this world there is “peace” within as they both guide us in choosing what is right in every circumstance.

“How you choose to interact with the opposing forces within you will determine your life. Starve one or the other or guide them both.” — Cherokee Story

“A Fire needs wind to spread”

Sometimes all the good ideas, passion, knowledge remains locked inside us, we need to determine what is that “wind” for us

“The True measure of a man are his Deeds, not his Words”

“Words” are “Worthless” if not backed by “Execution”, there are many times I have blurted out promises not only to others but also to “myself” but never executed them, trust me on this each time this happens a part of your confidence withers away

a person’s character is defined by his actions, not his words, remember this each time you procrastinate on an important task

“The value of a man, knight or Templar, is proven in the theater of war.”

There is a saying that, we need to remember “circumstances” don’t make a person they “reveal” a person

When the odds are stacked against you and there is a slim chance of success or you feel all your energy is lost chasing that personal/professional ambition

What you ‘do’ at that time, reveals who “you are”

“The more you doubt it, the more marvelous the miracle.”

In some part of our lives, we all have seen those “miracles”, miracles /magic performed by people on themselves, An obese kid with sheer hardwork , able to transform into a slim and muscular guy whom his old friends can’t recognize or a person whos used to be borderline of passing the exam is now among toppers

We are all capable of performing magic and miracles, just that we have to do 3 things — ‘Try, Learn, Again Try”

“Wicked men always see wickedness in others.”

You will meet people in life who will always doubt your attention and initiatives regardless of how much effort you take

I would suggest never start changing yourself to accommodate them (you will not be able to do it)

“Every man has two sides. The man he wants to be, and the man he really is.”

Knowing you are and where you want to be is important, there is also the 3rd state of transformation where the individual is taking the journey from who he really is to what he wants himself to be

“Sometimes the seeds of a man’s destruction are also seed of his redemption”

Failures, sometimes so heart wrenching that they break you to the core, it's then your “choice” what outcome you want for yourself

“Hope rise like a phoenix from the ashes of shattered dreams”

“When there’s nothing to hold on to, hold onto your faith”

Faith that you could do it, faith that it’s still possible, Faith that circumstances will improve and this too shall pass

“For a man of Faith, death is not the end. It’s just a passing.”

These were the lines said by Landry mentor to him during a funeral of a fallen knight templar after the war

“Death” a universal truth, a fate of every individual who was born, it's our choice to see it as “end” or the passage to a “new beginning”
